This is the third golf print engraving in mezzotint ever published. The painting of John Gray was also painted by Henry Raeburn, and was published on July 20, 1806 in black and white. This is similar to the one of James Balfour presented in this auction.These are the 2nd and 3rd golf engravings ever published, the oldest known according to historical references. What an opportunity to have both for your collection. Less than fifty copies are believed to have been published. Size 13 3/4" x 17."
